Listener
The PowerPoint-Listener is a Windows (XP or Vista) program that requires Microsoft PowerPoint (from Office XP on) with .NET from version 2 on.
The current version from the 2008/03/18 is compiled with libraries for Office 2003 and tested with Office 2003 and 2007. The libraries aren’t provided because of license reasons. Due to this the program assistance for Microsoft .NET has to be added during the PowerPoint installation.
For Office XP the current version probably has to be compiled again with the corresponding libraries.
PowerPoint-Converter
The PowerPoint-Converter is a Windows (XP, Server 2003, Vista) service, which needs Adobe Presenter (version 6.0), matsc and the SWF2Image-Library.

Video-Recorder
The Video-Recorder-Service consists of some Shell-Scripts for Linux. The current version is tested for Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10. Unfortunately there must be considered several dependences to other free Linux-Programs, therefore please read the installation guide.

The Video-Converting-Service consists of Shell-Scripts for Linux. The current version is tested for Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10. Unfortunately there must be considered several dependences to other free Linux-Programs, therefore please read the installation guide.

Enhanced Podcast Service
The Video-Converting-Service consists of some Shell-Scripts for MacOS X. There exist some dependences, e.g. the Apple Chapterool is needed. Please consider the directions in the guide.

Administrator
The administrator is an Apache Tomcat Webapplication, which runs independent from the OS. A Tomcat Server and a MySQL Database are required. The database mustn’t be located on the same machine.
Player
The Player is an Adobe Flash Application, which can be stored on any webserver.
Stud.IP-Plugin
The Stud.IP-Plugin needs a Stud.IP installation.
Additional Programs
Furthermore for the operations a Red5-Streaming-Server is required..
Also a webserver is needed.
On the Video-Recorder, the PowerPoint-Converter, the Red5-Server and the webserver a random FTP-Server is required in each case.
Live DVD
We provide an Ubuntu 7.10 based Live DVD, which includes numerous of the mentioned services:
- Video-Recorder
- Video-Converter
- Administrator incl. data base
- Webserver with model files
- Red5 Streaming Server
The Live-DVD possesses a default user “virtuos” with the password “virtuos”. In case of need all the other services use this user. MySQL deploys the username “root” with the password “virtuos”. Please change the passwords if you are planning to start the DVD prolifically.
